The Liquid Factory is a Startup Factory in Valtellina (the center of the Italian Alps), attracting the best talent in the world to create the next Silicon Valley unicorn with a dual company structure.

We are looking for four Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIRs) for TLF batch 2024 (deadline October 31, 2024 with start in January 2025), aiming for global impact with ideas that can change the world. 

We give you the capital to start (€200K), with no strings attached, and help you along your journey to Silicon Valley towards success. 

We are entrepreneurs who created and worked for liquid companies (no office, 100% remote), mainly in Silicon Valley. Some live in Valtellina, some in other parts of Italy, some in Silicon Valley. We succeed when you do (we are your co-founders)

About Applying to The Liquid Factory

DREAM BIG AND CHANGE THE WORLD

  1. If you want to apply, please submit your application online.
  2. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as you’re ready to apply.
  3. If your application is promising, we will invite you to interview with us. Most interviews will be held by video conference in November. We give everyone who interviews detailed feedback on our decision.
  4. We plan to create the new companies as soon as the EIR is accepted (e.g. in December 2024); we do not wait for the batch to start (that will happen in January 2025).

 

THE PROGRAM

  • No experience or idea necessary (for real)
  • You apply to TLF Batch 2024 by Oct 31st
  • We invest €200K to create a new company with you at a €1M valuation
  • You come to live in Valtellina and enjoy the mountains (6/18 months)
  • You jump to Silicon Valley (with a flip)

Do not apply if you do not enjoy the outdoors.

 

THE BATCH

We expect the four EIRs to join us in Valtellina (Sondrio) starting in January 2025. We plan to help you find an accommodation, and we will have a free office with a foosball table in the middle (now you know why we pick 4 per batch) plus a meeting room. Being a liquid enterprise, we do not expect everyone to be in the office all the time. We expect you to come to Valtellina (also) because it has the best skiing in the Italian Alps, exceptional food and breathtaking scenery, top hiking, climbing, rafting, mountain biking and proximity to Lake Como and Milan. So, we will have brainstormings while skiing and hiking, devising the best strategies to make your startup a unicorn (including finding cofounders, designing an MVP, planning a go-to-market, and so on). The goal is to have your company accepted in one of the best accelerators in Silicon Valley as soon as possible, which will make your life (and ours) much easier. If we fail, that is part of the game.
 

The agreement

NO STRINGS ATTACHED

It is pretty simple, and you can read it yourself (no, this is not a deal where you have to pay for services or for office space or for whatever). We give you €200K at a €1M valuation of the company we start together in Valtellina, with the goal of flipping it into a Delaware corporation in the USA, moving you to Silicon Valley (and leaving everyone else where they are, since it is supposed to be a liquid company). We’ll transform the investment into a SAFE in the US corporation we create (same terms), and the US corporation will then own the Italian subsidiary 100%. Ready for a seed round in California. We’ll try to help you also once you land, but then it will be up to you to make yourself (and us) successful.
